Matcha Bowl – Frogs of Chōjū-giga Design | KOTOPOTTER

Elegant Hand-painted Matcha Bowl with Playful Frogs

This Kyoto-made matcha bowl captures the charm of Kyo-ware and Kiyomizu-ware through its hand-painted design inspired by the famous Chōjū-giga scrolls. Each brushstroke conveys a sense of joy and liveliness, reflecting Kyoto’s refined humor and artistry.

The smooth curves formed on the potter’s wheel are complemented by the vivid colors and delicate details of Jyosui Kato’s Iroe (colored overglaze) technique, inherited through generations of Kyoto craftsmanship.
