Elegant Hand-painted Matcha Bowl from Kyoto
This handmade Kyoto matcha bowl showcases a brilliant depiction of the Hinoki fan (Japanese cypress fan), painted in a vibrant orange hue with graceful detail. The radiant design, delicately applied by hand, embodies the refined beauty of Kyoto’s traditional Iroe (colored overglaze) technique.
Each brushstroke reflects the sensitivity and craftsmanship of Jyosui Kato, whose artistry brings to life the timeless grace and sophistication of Kyo-ware and Kiyomizu-ware.
Its smooth, wheel-thrown form and luminous surface make this bowl a captivating example of Japanese handmade pottery, blending elegance and tradition in perfect harmony.

A Touch of Celebration and Refinement
Ideal for formal tea ceremonies or as a centerpiece for festive occasions, this Kyoto ceramic matcha bowl enhances every moment with a sense of dignity and charm.
Its graceful shape and detailed hand-painting evoke the spirit of celebration and harmony found in Japanese art and culture.
Whether used or displayed, it adds a sense of warmth and artistry to your living space — a true expression of Japanese craftsmanship.

The Beauty of Traditional Kyoto Overglaze Painting
Jyosui Kato continues the legacy of Edo-period Kyoto ceramics, expressing natural motifs and auspicious patterns with meticulous brushwork and harmonious color.
His hand-painted Kyo-ware and Kiyomizu-ware embody a deep sense of refinement — works that carry forward the soul of Kyoto’s artistry into the modern era.
This handcrafted matcha bowl makes a splendid gift from Japan for collectors, tea enthusiasts, and admirers of fine Japanese ceramics.
