Realistic Yet Endearing.
Take a relaxing moment with your favorite cup.

Takanobu Sawada, a ceramic artist based in the countryside of Nantan, Kyoto.

Surrounded by the natural beauty of the landscape, Sawada creates pottery featuring realistic yet warm animal motifs.

Each piece is carefully hand-formed, shaped with usability in mind for a comfortable hold.

The soft, milky-white kohiki glaze brings out the gentle texture unique to pottery, enhancing the charm of each piece.

Feel the Warmth of Handmade Craftsmanship

The animal motifs are expressed not with a brush, but by scraping the kohiki base, creating a unique texture.

Each line has its own movement, adding a sense of individuality and warmth to the final piece.

Sawada, whose father is a Kyo-ware and Kiyomizu-ware ceramic artist, has been immersed in pottery from a young age and has 20 years of experience.

In his 30s, he has reached a level of skill comparable to seasoned veterans in the field.

Combining youthful creativity with refined techniques, Sawada produces pottery filled with the originality that is unique to Kyoto.

Experience the charm of his work in your daily life.
