Gorgeous works embodying the tradition of Kyo-yaki ware

Yutaka Takeuchi is an artist who creates works using traditional techniques of Kyo-yaki and Kiyomizu-yaki ware, such as Kochi, sometsuke, and ittchin盛り (morimono, or raised patterns).

His works are characterized by vibrant colors, lustrous textures, and meticulously applied decorations. While inheriting traditional techniques, he expresses his unique worldview through approachable and playful designs.

Rich expressions born from expert techniques

By combining various techniques, such as the vibrant coloring unique to Kochi and the ittchin technique of drawing patterns with raised lines, he creates expressions with depth.

Each piece is finished by hand, reflecting years of accumulated skill and the artist's dedication.

Enjoy Kyoto craftsmanship

Yutaka Takeuchi's tableware is both splendid and easy to incorporate into daily life.

These pieces add color to your dining table and tea time, allowing you to appreciate the charm of Kyoto's craftsmanship every time you use them.

Comment from the Owner

This long plate has a beautiful chrysanthemum-like flower shape.

The sometsuke cherry blossom round crests are elegantly arranged, utilizing the negative space, giving it a neat yet distinctively Kyoto-esque splendor.

It's a versatile plate, perfect for serving grilled fish, sashimi, or single dishes, suitable for everyday use or entertaining guests.
