Elegant Hand-painted Design, Rooted in Kyoto Tradition
This traditional matcha bowl from Kyoto, Japan showcases the refined artistry of Kyo-ware and Kiyomizu-ware pottery. Each brushstroke is hand-painted with care, reflecting the aesthetic sensitivity passed down through generations of Kyoto artisans.
The graceful curves shaped on the potter’s wheel are adorned with the vivid Iroe (colored overglaze) technique perfected by Jyosui Kato, a master of traditional Japanese ceramic painting.

Enjoy a Moment of Calm with Every Season
Perfect for both formal tea gatherings and relaxed teatime at home, this handmade bowl enhances your everyday tea ritual. Simply displaying it brings a quiet charm to your space, evoking the serenity of Kyoto’s changing seasons.
The gentle, well-balanced form fits comfortably in your hands, making it ideal for enjoying matcha, green tea, or herbal blends while finding a moment of peace in your day.

The Beauty of Hand-painted Tradition
Jyosui Kato continues the elegant naturalism of Edo-period Kyoto ceramics, painting motifs of plants and auspicious patterns with soft colors and delicate brushwork. His pieces embody the essence of traditional Japanese art and refined craftsmanship.
Each matcha bowl reflects the quiet skill and spirit of a true artisan — a thoughtful and timeless gift for those who appreciate handmade Kyoto pottery.

Owner's Comment
The hand-painted yuzu fruit has a lovely charm that brings to mind a peaceful winter scene in Kyoto.
The cylindrical shape is comfortable to hold and beautifully highlights the color of matcha.
A perfect bowl to accompany your quiet tea moments on cold days.
