A magnificent overglaze-enameled matcha bowl carrying on the tradition of Kyo ware

Profound and magnificent decoration reflecting traditional beauty

Drawing on the tradition of overglaze-enameled Kyo ware exemplified by Nonomura Kinsai, the bowl expresses classic motifs with refined elegance.

Drawing on the sure brushwork she developed through her training in Japanese painting, the bowl features meticulously rendered details and rich, profound decoration in a wealth of colors. While honoring traditional styles, it is finished with both splendor and elegance.

A refined presence that enhances the tea ceremony

The magnificent overglaze decoration spreading across the entire bowl evokes the decorative beauty cultivated by Kyo ware and Kiyomizu ware. The presence created by the interplay of classic motifs and rich colors exudes the distinctive elegance of traditional tea ceramics.

Shop owner's comment

This is Karin Miyakawa's matcha bowl, delicately depicting the powerfully extending trunk of a cherry tree and its flowers in full bloom.

By carefully rendering even the character of the branches and trunk and then delicately layering countless cherry blossom petals over them, she expresses the abundant vitality of cherry blossoms in full bloom. In addition to the magnificent flowers, the decoration that conveys the power of the cherry tree itself is also captivating.

This bowl allows you to enjoy Karin Miyakawa's uniquely painterly beauty, harmonizing meticulous brushwork with an expansive composition.
