Matcha Bowl – Turnip Design | KOTOPOTTER

Elegant Hand-painted Matcha Bowl from Kyoto

This matcha bowl, hand-painted in Kyoto, Japan, showcases the refined artistry of Kyo-ware and Kiyomizu-ware pottery. Its charming turnip motif adds a touch of playfulness while reflecting the warmth of Japanese craftsmanship.

Each brushstroke embodies the painter’s graceful sensibility, capturing the quiet elegance of Kyoto’s traditional aesthetic.

The bowl’s smooth, rounded form—created on the potter’s wheel—reveals the mastery of the Iroe (colored overglaze) technique passed down by Jyosui Kato, a celebrated Kyoto ceramic artist.
