Elegant Hand-painted Matcha Bowl from Kyoto
This matcha bowl represents the refined beauty of Kyo-ware and Kiyomizu-ware pottery, handmade and hand-painted in Kyoto, Japan. The graceful depiction of bamboo and young shoots captures the spirit of renewal that marks the beginning of a new year.
Each brushstroke reflects the painter’s delicate artistry, embodying the serene and graceful atmosphere of Kyoto’s traditional aesthetics.
The soft, rounded form created on the potter’s wheel brings out the brilliance of the Iroe (colored overglaze) technique mastered by Jyosui Kato, a celebrated Kyoto craftsman preserving centuries-old traditions.

Experience the Seasons through Tea
Perfect for a traditional tea ceremony or a quiet afternoon at home, this handcrafted Kyoto ceramic bowl evokes a sense of freshness and vitality reminiscent of spring’s arrival.
Even when displayed, its hand-painted design and subtle luster bring elegance and calm to any room, reflecting the ever-changing beauty of nature.
The comfortable form fits naturally in your hands, making it an ideal piece to accompany moments of mindfulness and tranquility in your daily life.

The Beauty of Kyoto Hand-painting
Jyosui Kato continues the legacy of Edo-period Kyoto pottery, carrying forward the aesthetics of realism and natural beauty into the modern age.
He depicts seasonal flora and auspicious motifs using delicate brushwork and soft color gradients, celebrating the harmony of Japanese traditional craftsmanship.
This hand-painted Kyoto matcha bowl embodies the warmth of human touch and is a wonderful gift for tea enthusiasts who appreciate refined Japanese ceramic art.
