Each piece is carefully hand-formed, with its shape trimmed for comfort and ease of use. The smooth, milky-white kohiki glaze brings out the natural softness and warmth of traditional Japanese ceramics.
Feel the warmth of craftsmanship
Instead of using a brush, Sawada carves directly into the kohiki glaze to bring each animal to life. The delicate, dynamic lines give the artwork a sense of motion and emotion.
Son of a Kyo-ware and Kiyomizu-ware ceramic artist, Sawada has been immersed in pottery since childhood. With over 20 years of experience, his skills are honed far beyond his years.
