Kiyomizu Ware Tea Ceramics by Kaifū Yagi

Created in Yamashiro, Kyoto—an area close to Uji and deeply connected to Japanese tea culture—this matcha bowl is crafted by Kaifū Yagi, a master of traditional tea ceramics from Japan.

Its well-balanced form and refined silhouette reflect years of experience in handmade pottery, shaped with a deep understanding of the tea ceremony and Kyoto ceramic traditions.

Hand-Painted Character, One of a Kind

Each bowl is finished by hand, with subtle variations in brushwork and composition that give every piece its own unique presence.

No two bowls are exactly the same—this individuality is a defining charm of handmade ceramic art and part of the joy of choosing your own piece.

Thoughtful Function for Everyday Tea

From the depth of the bowl to the feel of the rim and the balance in the hand, every detail is carefully shaped with practical use in mind.

Suitable for both tea practice and relaxed daily enjoyment, this bowl quietly enhances moments spent preparing and savoring matcha.

Owner’s Comment

Mount Fuji and cherry blossoms gently emerge against a tea-green surface with a rich, earthy character. The natural texture of the Irabo-style glaze, combined with the soft hand-painted motifs, creates a calm and harmonious presence. A matcha bowl that allows you to enjoy seasonal beauty and auspicious symbolism in a quiet, composed way.
