Kiyomizu Ware Tableware by Kaifū Yagi
Crafted in Yamashiro, Kyoto—an area close to Uji and deeply rooted in Japan’s ceramic traditions—this piece is created by Kaifū Yagi, who has spent many years working with traditional pottery.
Its well-balanced form and refined presence reflect the quiet confidence of handmade Kyoto ceramic craftsmanship, shaped through decades of experience.

Each piece is carefully hand-painted, with subtle differences in brushwork and spacing that give it a distinct personality.

Tea Ceramic Artist: Kaifū Yagi
Born in 1950 in Yamashiro, Kyoto.
After graduating from the Kyoto Prefectural Ceramic Training School, he apprenticed under the first-generation ceramic artist Josui Kato.
Specializing in traditional Kyo-ware and Kiyomizu-ware ceramics, he has received numerous awards at major ceramic exhibitions.
In 2003, he was certified as a Traditional Craftsman of Kiyomizu Ware.
He continues to work at his studio in Yamashiro-Taga, Kyoto.
