Elegant Kyoto Matcha Bowl with Hand-painted Design

Each brushstroke reflects the delicate sensitivity of the artist, evoking the poetic grace and sophistication that define Kyoto’s ceramic heritage.
The bowl’s smooth curves, shaped on the potter’s wheel, highlight the brilliance of the Iroe (colored overglaze) technique perfected by Jyosui Kato, one of Kyoto’s most celebrated ceramic masters.

Enjoy the Seasons through Tea
Whether used for a formal tea ceremony or a quiet tea moment at home, this handmade Kyoto ceramic bowl invites you to experience the beauty of each season.
Its radiant colors bring warmth to your interior, even when simply displayed, adding a touch of Japanese elegance to your living space.
The soft form feels comfortable in the hand and enhances the experience of mindfulness and calm with every sip.

The Beauty of Traditional Kyoto Hand-painting
Jyosui Kato continues the legacy of Edo-period Kyoto pottery, faithfully expressing its naturalistic elegance through his contemporary creations.
Using refined brushwork and soft color tones, he depicts natural motifs such as flowers, fruits, and auspicious patterns that embody Japan’s deep appreciation for nature.
This handcrafted matcha bowl, created with care and precision, makes a memorable gift handmade in Kyoto, celebrating both tradition and artistry.
