Handcrafted rice bowl with plum blossom motif

A Beautiful Rice Bowl You'll Love to Use Every Day

Experience the Charm of Kyoto Pottery

From Nagata Studio in the serene Kyotanba region of Kyoto, master potter Takuro Nagata introduces this exquisite rice bowl. With over 50 years of experience, his work reflects the timeless elegance and craftsmanship of Kyo-ware and Kiyomizu-ware pottery.

This rice bowl is designed to bring both functionality and beauty to your table.

Handcrafted rice bowl with a plum motif from Kyoto

Each bowl is meticulously crafted using the "press mold" technique, where clay is shaped by hand into molds. This time-intensive method gives the bowl its unique texture and a one-of-a-kind handmade character.

The subtle fingerprints and delicate irregularities showcase the artisanal touch, making every piece truly special.

Elegant white porcelain rice bowl with a plum motif

Made from carefully selected porcelain, this bowl features a translucent finish and a refined texture. Fired at high temperatures, it is durable and built to last, ensuring it will remain a cherished part of your tableware collection.

The slightly smaller size is perfect for serving rice or as a versatile small bowl for side dishes.

The plum blossom motif, a symbol of resilience and renewal, is hand-painted by Nagata’s wife, a former artisan in Kyoto’s Yuzen dyeing tradition. Her delicate brushwork in soft indigo tones creates an understated elegance that complements the bowl’s design.

This bowl exemplifies the artistry of Kyo-ware, offering a blend of tradition and practicality that pottery enthusiasts and collectors will adore.

Owner's Comment

This rice bowl is not only ideal for rice but also works well as a small bowl for side dishes.

Its slightly smaller size makes it a perfect choice for women or anyone who prefers a compact bowl.

Even the foot of the bowl features a charming plum blossom shape, adding to its delightful design.

The plum blossom, a symbol of celebration and good fortune, makes this bowl an excellent gift option.
