A Unique Sake Cup for Memorable Moments

Celebrate the Artistry of Kyoto Pottery

From Nagata Studio in Kyoto’s tranquil Kyotanba region, master potter Takuro Nagata, with over 50 years of experience, presents this exquisite handmade sake cup. It embodies the elegance and craftsmanship of Kyo-ware and Kiyomizu-ware pottery.

Designed to elevate your sake-drinking experience, this cup is a harmonious blend of artistry and functionality.

Each piece is meticulously crafted using the "press mold" technique, where clay is skillfully shaped by hand. This labor-intensive process creates a unique texture and a distinct handmade charm.

The subtle irregularities and preserved fingerprints showcase the craftsmanship of each cup, ensuring every piece is one of a kind.

The porcelain material is carefully selected for its translucent quality and refined finish. Fired to perfection, this sake cup is as durable as it is beautiful, ensuring it will be cherished for years to come.

Its timeless design makes it a versatile addition to any table or collection.

The hand-painted Yatsuhashi motif, inspired by the traditional floral gardens of ancient Kyoto, is created by Nagata’s wife, a former artisan of Kyoto’s renowned Yuzen dyeing tradition. Her intricate brushwork in soft indigo hues adds a sense of harmony and understated elegance.

This sake cup exemplifies the best of Kyo-ware, combining beauty and practicality to delight pottery enthusiasts and collectors alike.
