An Adorable Small Plate You'll Use Every Day

Celebrate the Timeless Beauty of Kyoto Pottery

From Nagata Studio in Kyoto’s serene Kyotanba region, master potter Takuro Nagata, with over 50 years of expertise, introduces this charming small plate. Crafted with meticulous care, it exemplifies the artistry of Kyo-ware and Kiyomizu-ware pottery.

This small plate is designed to bring both functionality and elegance to your dining experience.

Each plate is meticulously shaped using the "press mold" technique, where clay is gently pressed into molds by hand. This traditional method creates a unique texture and showcases the artistry of handmade craftsmanship.

The preserved fingerprints and slight irregularities give each plate a distinctive character, making every piece truly one of a kind.

The porcelain used is carefully selected for its translucent quality and refined finish. Fired at high temperatures, this plate is both durable and beautiful, ensuring it will be a cherished part of your tableware for years to come.

Its versatile size and timeless design make it an excellent choice for everyday use or special occasions.

The bamboo design, part of the auspicious "Sho Chiku Bai" (pine, bamboo, and plum) motif, is hand-painted by Nagata’s wife, a former artisan in Kyoto’s renowned Yuzen dyeing tradition. Her delicate brushwork in soft indigo tones adds harmony and understated elegance to the piece.

This small plate is a testament to the beauty and functionality of Kyo-ware, making it a perfect addition to your collection or a thoughtful gift.
