A Charming Small Plate for Everyday Use

Discover the Beauty of Kyoto Pottery

From Nagata Studio in Kyoto’s tranquil Kyotanba region, master potter Takuro Nagata brings you this delightful handcrafted small plate. With over 50 years of expertise, his creations embody the elegance and tradition of Kyo-ware and Kiyomizu-ware pottery.

This versatile plate is perfect for adding a touch of sophistication to your dining table.

Each plate is crafted using the "press mold" technique, where clay is carefully shaped by hand into molds. This traditional method creates unique textures and a distinct handmade charm.

The preserved fingerprints and slight irregularities add to the plate’s artisanal character, making each piece truly one of a kind.

Elegant white porcelain small plate handcrafted in Kyoto

Crafted from carefully selected porcelain, this plate features a translucent finish and refined texture. It is fired at high temperatures for durability, ensuring it remains a timeless addition to your tableware collection.

The plate's versatile size makes it ideal for serving appetizers, desserts, or small snacks.

The hand-painted pine tree motif, symbolizing longevity and resilience, is created by Nagata’s wife, a former Kyoto Yuzen artisan. Her delicate brushwork in soft indigo hues enhances the plate's understated elegance.

This small plate is an excellent representation of Kyo-ware craftsmanship, combining practicality with artistic beauty.
