Realistic Yet Playful - Relax with Your Favorite Cup

In the peaceful countryside of Kyoto, Takanobu Sawada creates his exquisite pottery in a studio located in Nantan City, a region known for its picturesque rural landscapes.

Sawada's series features realistic yet heartwarming animal designs, blending charm and artistry into every piece.

Each tumbler is carefully handcrafted, shaped for practical use, and finished with a soft, milky-white glaze that highlights the traditional ceramic texture.

The animal illustrations are not painted but skillfully carved into the glaze, revealing the clay underneath. This unique technique adds a warm and distinctive touch to each tumbler.

Born into a family of Kyo-ware and Kiyomizu-ware artisans, Sawada's passion for ceramics began early in life. Now in his 30s and with over 20 years of experience, he has established himself as a master craftsman.

Blending youthful creativity with masterful skill, Sawada's work brings originality and beauty to Kyoto's ceramic traditions. Add one of his unique pieces to your collection today.
