Realistic yet irresistibly charming.
Take a relaxing moment with your favorite rice bowl.
In the peaceful countryside of Nantan, Kyoto, ceramic artist Takanobu Sawada creates traditional handmade pottery inspired by nature’s beauty.
His work features lifelike animal designs that are simultaneously charming and warm, adding a special touch to every piece.
Each bowl is meticulously hand-shaped, with attention paid to its usability and comfort, ensuring it fits perfectly in your hand.
The soft, milky-white kohiki glaze highlights the gentle texture that is characteristic of traditional Japanese ceramic ware.

Feel the warmth of handmade craftsmanship
Rather than painting, the animals are carved directly into the kohiki surface, creating depth and movement in each line.
This carving technique gives the pieces a unique artistic expression, offering a tactile charm and a reflection of traditional Kyoto pottery.
Born into a family of Kyo-ware and Kiyomizu-ware ceramic artists, Sawada has been surrounded by pottery since childhood, accumulating over 20 years of experience.
Now in his 30s, he has already established himself as a seasoned and skilled craftsman.

A special bowl for your everyday table
With a blend of youthful creativity and refined technique, Sawada brings to life original pieces that reflect the spirit of Kyoto’s ceramic tradition.
We invite you to experience the charm of his handmade pottery and bring a touch of Kyoto's warmth into your daily life.
