Realistic yet endearing, these pieces bring charm to your table.

Takunobu Sawada runs his pottery studio in Nantan City, Kyoto, an area that preserves the beauty of traditional rural landscapes.

This series of pottery features realistic animal illustrations, yet with a warmth that makes each piece endearing.

Each piece is carefully shaped and finely crafted to ensure functionality, with a smooth, milky white finish typical of ceramics. The pieces are then gently refined to enhance their usability.

The animal illustrations are created not with a brush but by carving into the clay, giving each piece a unique texture and warmth.

With a father who is a Kyo-yaki and Kiyomizu-ware potter, Sawada has been deeply interested in ceramics from a young age. Now in his 30s, he has been practicing pottery for 20 years and is considered an experienced artisan.

With a keen sense of youth and skilled craftsmanship, Sawada creates pottery full of originality. We invite you to enjoy his unique creations at home.

Owner's Comment

This is a deep, easy-to-hold rice bowl.

The ivory tone beautifully complements the white rice.
