Experience the Seasons of Kyoto Through Ceramics

Established in 1917 at the foot of Sennyu-ji Temple in Kyoto’s Higashiyama area, Shunzan Kiln continues to preserve the traditional techniques of Kiyomizu-ware while creating designs suited for modern living.

Seasonal flowers, hand-painted with care, bring a subtle and elegant charm to your dining table throughout the year.

The Gentle Charm of Handmade Craft

The soft, rounded texture of the clay fits comfortably in your hand. With every use, you'll grow more attached to the piece's handmade warmth.

Delicate colors and shimmering gold accents offer a refined beauty, adding a moment of quiet elegance to your daily life.

Ceramics That Complement Everyday Life

Each piece from Shunzan Kiln is made with the wish that it brings joy—both visually and through daily use.

The ease of handling and practicality reflect the kiln’s dedication to craftsmanship and thoughtful design.

We invite you to bring the traditions of Kyoto into your everyday moments.

Owner's Comment

This teapot is perfectly sized to brew about three small cups of sencha or one full cup of tea.

Though designed for sencha, it's also ideal as a compact teapot for green tea or black tea.

Its gentle texture and hand-painted design—so typical of Kiyomizu-ware—paired with a charmingly rounded form, make it a truly soothing presence on your table.
