This Shunzan Kiln matcha bowl features a boldly carved form and the charming, subdued texture of irabo glaze.

On the tranquil surface of the ware, cherry blossoms are depicted using ittchin (slip-trailing) and gold leaf, adding a touch of brilliance to its rustic charm. The raised lines of the ittchin and the sparkle of the gold leaf strikingly enhance the beauty of the cherry blossoms.

This bowl beautifully harmonizes contrasting elements: rustic clay and luxurious gold leaf. It is a true Shunzan Kiln piece that will deepen in character with every use.
