A Charming Ceramic Cup for Tea, Sake, or Everyday Use
Celebrate Daily Moments with Kyoto Pottery
From Nagata Studio, located in the picturesque Kyotanba region of Kyoto, comes this exquisite handmade cup by master potter Takuro Nagata, a craftsman with over 50 years of experience.
This elegant cup encapsulates the timeless charm of Kyo-ware and Kiyomizu-ware, blending traditional craftsmanship with contemporary functionality.

Each piece is handcrafted using the "press mold" technique, where clay is gently shaped by hand into molds. This method, while more labor-intensive than wheel throwing, creates a one-of-a-kind texture that radiates artisanal beauty.
Subtle irregularities and fingerprints are preserved in the design, adding a warm, handmade feel that enhances the character of each cup.

The porcelain material is carefully selected and fired to achieve a refined translucence, offering an understated elegance and exceptional durability.
This robust yet delicate design ensures the cup's beauty can be enjoyed for years to come, making it a worthwhile addition to any collection.

The hand-painted plum design is the work of Nagata’s wife, a former artisan in Kyoto's renowned Yuzen dyeing tradition. Her delicate brushwork in soft indigo tones brings a sense of harmony and elegance to the piece.
This cup is a perfect example of Kyo-ware's ability to combine functionality with artistic flair, appealing to both pottery enthusiasts and collectors.
