Ikkajin ware that brightens up your dining table
The small figure peeking out from the rim of the vessel is an "Ikkajin" (hermit).
"Kan" means to have a relaxed mind and enjoy peaceful time. We hope you can take your time to enjoy meals and tea, even in your busy daily life. This wish is embodied in the Ikkajin.
Each Ikkajin is handmade, and it is a representative design by Hiroshi Takeuchi that grows on you every time you look at it.

The splendor created by Kyoto ware's traditional techniques
Hiroshi Takeuchi's works are created by skillfully combining traditional Kyoto ware techniques such as Kochi ware, sometsuke (blue and white dyeing), and itchin mori (slip trailing).
Vessels with patterns drawn with raised lines and vibrant colors are splendid yet elegant. The skilled techniques are evident in the meticulously finished decorations.

Bring joy to your daily life
While inheriting traditional techniques, the designs are approachable and playful.
These are Kyoto ware and Kiyomizu ware pieces unique to Hiroshi Takeuchi that brighten your spirits every time you use them.

Shop owner's comment
This is a silver-glazed Kochi free cup with an adorable Ikkajin peeking out from the rim of the vessel.
It is a splendid piece, luxuriously decorated with silver glaze over the entire vessel, and elegantly depicting a pattern of ripe grapes. The vibrant colors of Kochi ware and the sparkle of silver glaze harmonize, creating a sophisticated beauty.
Its shape makes it easy to use for tea or coffee, as well as a dessert cup. Every time you use it, you can feel the playful spirit of the Ikkajin and the splendor unique to Kyoto ware.
