A Charming Sake Cup for Memorable Moments

Experience the Timeless Beauty of Kyoto Pottery

Created by master potter Takuro Nagata of Nagata Studio in Kyoto's picturesque Kyotanba region, this exquisite handmade sake cup reflects over 50 years of expertise in Kyo-ware and Kiyomizu-ware pottery.

This sake cup embodies the rich artistry and craftsmanship of Kyoto, making every sip a special occasion.

Each piece is meticulously shaped using the "press mold" technique, a labor-intensive process that involves hand-pressing clay into molds. This traditional method results in unique textures and an artisanal touch.

The preserved fingerprints and subtle irregularities make each cup a one-of-a-kind creation, showcasing the beauty of handcrafted ceramics.

The porcelain material is carefully chosen for its translucence and refined finish. Fired to achieve exceptional durability, this cup is as sturdy as it is beautiful.

Its timeless elegance ensures it will be cherished for years to come.

The hand-painted plum design, a symbol of celebration and good fortune, is created by Nagata’s wife, a former artisan of Kyoto’s famous Yuzen dyeing tradition. Her delicate brushwork in soft indigo hues adds a sense of harmony and understated elegance.

This sake cup is a masterpiece of Kyo-ware, perfect for pottery enthusiasts and collectors alike.
