Relentless Pursuit of Glaze Perfection
Yoshinori Izumi, who has a studio in the satoyama (foothills) of Keihoku, Kyoto, has been researching glazes for over 50 years.
Building on the knowledge he acquired at the Kyoto City Industrial Research Institute, he has meticulously verified changes due to firing temperature, glaze composition, and flame exposure, pursuing his unique kiln-change expressions.
Izumi's work is not merely dependent on chance but is built upon data and experience accumulated over many years.
Even so, unpredictable changes occur within the kiln, and no two pieces will ever have the exact same appearance.

Beautiful Colors Created by Fire
Izumi's Tenmoku and celadon works display complex color changes produced by firing.
The deep gradations created by the flowing glaze and the delicate kiln-changes resulting from mineral reactions exhibit an expression akin to natural phenomena.

Tableware that Enriches Everyday Life
While Izumi's vessels possess high artistic quality, they are created with an emphasis on daily use.
Based on his long experience crafting a wide range of vessels including sake cups, teacups, and matcha bowls, meticulous attention is paid to aspects like the feel on the lips, ease of holding, and overall comfort of use.
They possess a quiet presence, enhancing food and drink. These vessels allow you to enjoy the changing expressions of the glaze and the play of light with every use.

For Special Gifts
The works will be delivered in a wooden box handwritten by the artist.
The landscapes created by the kiln changes are unique to each piece, with each possessing its own singular expression.
Izumi's works, born from his many years of dedication to glazes, are also recommended as special gifts.
These are impressive vessels that grow more cherished with every use.
