Realistic, yet somehow adorable.
Take a moment to relax with your favorite mug.
Takunobu Sawada is a potter with a studio in the satoyama (foothills) of Nantan City, Kyoto.
Surrounded by rich natural scenery, he creates vessels depicting animals that are realistic yet warm.
Each piece is carefully formed, with a shape carved out for ease of use when held.
The soft, milky white slipware base enhances the gentle texture unique to pottery.

Vessels that convey the warmth of handcraftsmanship
The animal patterns are not drawn with a brush but created by scraping away the slipware base.
Each line has movement, resulting in a unique and warm finish.
Takunobu Sawada, whose father is a Kyoyaki and Kiyomizuyaki potter, has been familiar with pottery since childhood and has 20 years of experience.
He is a craftsman with solid skills, reaching the level of a veteran in his thirties.

Sawada-san, with his youthful sensibility and refined skills, creates original Kyoto-style vessels.
Please experience their charm in your daily life.
