Takunobu Sawada is a potter who has his studio in a satoyama (rural landscape) in Nantan City, Kyoto.

Surrounded by rich nature, he creates ceramic pieces featuring warm and realistic animal designs.

Each piece is meticulously formed and sculpted to be easy to hold and use.

The soft, milky white kohiki (slipware) base enhances the gentle texture unique to pottery.

Pottery that conveys the warmth of handcrafted work

The animal patterns are not drawn with a brush but are created by scraping off the kohiki (slip) from the surface.

Each line has movement, resulting in a unique and warm artistic expression.

Takunobu Sawada, whose father is a Kyo-yaki Kiyomizu-yaki potter, has been familiar with pottery since childhood and has over 20 years of experience in ceramics.

At just 30 years old, he is a craftsman with solid skills, already reaching the level of a veteran.

Mr. Sawada, with his fresh sensibility and refined skills, creates unique Kyoto-style vessels.

We invite you to experience their charm in your daily life.
