Experience the Seasons of Kyoto Through Tableware
Founded in 1917 at the foot of Senyu-ji Temple in Kyoto’s Higashiyama district, Shunzan Kiln continues the legacy of traditional Kiyomizu-ware pottery from Kyoto, Japan.
Built upon time-honored ceramic techniques, the kiln creates designs that harmonize with contemporary living while preserving traditional Kyoto craftsmanship.
Each motif is carefully hand-painted, bringing a refined seasonal accent to your table.
The Comfort of Handmade Craftsmanship
The softly textured clay and gently formed shape feel natural in the hand, reflecting the warmth unique to handmade Japanese pottery.
Gentle colors paired with delicate gold accents introduce a subtle elegance to everyday dining.
Designed to Complement Everyday Life
Shunzan Kiln creates ceramic pieces meant to be appreciated visually and enjoyed in daily use.
The balanced proportions and practical height make this piece suitable for appetizers, small composed dishes, desserts, or tasting plates.
Bring the beauty of traditional Kyoto pottery into your everyday dining experience.

Owner’s Comment
This mukozuke plate is inspired by a masterpiece of Ogata Kenzan, featuring a chrysanthemum motif.
The petal-shaped form follows the outline of the chrysanthemum, expressing the graceful elegance characteristic of Kenzan-style design.
With a slightly elevated profile, it presents food beautifully and adds a refined presence to the table.
