The soft texture unique to Raku ware

Raku ware matcha bowls are vessels that originated from the tea ceremony in Kyoto, which has a history of about 400 years.
Each piece is shaped by hand without the use of a potter's wheel, creating a natural, undulating form.

The soft texture, fired at a low temperature, and the warmth conveyed to the hand.
The changing texture as it is used is also a unique charm of Raku ware.

Gentle painting with colored clay

Raku Nyū matcha bowls are decorated with "nama-etsuke," where designs are painted directly onto the unglazed clay.

By using colored clay instead of pigments, soft, subdued colors and a subtle three-dimensional effect are created.
This gentle painting style is only possible with Raku ware, which is fired at low temperatures.

Seasonal motifs and charming designs naturally blend into tea ceremonies as well as everyday moments.

For tea ceremonies or a daily cup of tea

While valuing ease of use as a tea utensil, it can also be enjoyed casually as a single bowl.

You can use it as a seasonal vessel when preparing matcha at home.
Not only when in use, but also when simply displayed, it adds a soft touch of color to the space.

Delivered in a wooden box with the artist's calligraphy

The matcha bowl will be sent in a wooden box with the artist's handwritten calligraphy.

It is suitable for storage, and its special presentation makes it an excellent gift.

*You can choose whether or not to include gift wrapping.

Shopkeeper's comment

This matcha bowl features a majestic blue Mt. Fuji painted on the soft white raku glaze, a characteristic of Rakunyu ware.

The warm texture of the white enhances the beauty and refreshing clarity of the blue Mt. Fuji.

This is a perfect bowl for a calming cup of tea, harmonizing the excellent tactile feel unique to Raku ware with a bright and cheerful design.
