Cherish the Beauty of Everyday Moments

With Your Favorite Tableware

In a quiet studio in Yamashina, Kyoto, ceramic artist Miyuki Matoba creates tableware under her brand, nagusa.

The name nagusa comes from her desire to craft pieces that blend seamlessly into everyday life—like the nameless wild grasses ("nagusa") that quietly grow around us.

This philosophy is beautifully reflected in her delicate and heartwarming ceramics.

Annande (安南手) is a traditional ceramic technique originating from Vietnam.

Each piece has its own unique variations in glaze bleeding and color transitions, celebrating the organic beauty of pottery.

The bird motif is hand-engraved and painted using gosu (a traditional blue pigment), giving it a soft and expressive finish.

Miyuki Matoba studied painting at university before pursuing ceramics in Kyoto.

The simple yet charming bird illustration brings a sense of warmth to any tea time or dining experience.
