A comment from the owner

This is Ryoji's matcha bowl, featuring small chrysanthemums painted on a soft background created by a combination of ash glazes.

The natural gradations created by the different glazes add depth to the vessel, upon which delicate small chrysanthemums are carefully depicted. The modest blooming of the small flowers evokes the tranquil scenery of an autumn field.

This is a calm bowl where the rustic texture of the clay and gentle painting harmonize. It is a warm piece that seems to accompany your daily tea time.
