One-of-a-Kind Textures Forged in the Kiln
Crafted in Kyoto by the esteemed artisan Koji Takahashi, this ceramic Matcha bowl features a complex glaze born from the unpredictable reactions within the kiln. The fusion of raw clay and sophisticated glazes creates a rich, "wabi-sabi" texture that feels both ancient and remarkably modern.
The surface subtly shifts in the light, providing a dramatic backdrop that makes the vibrant "green" of Matcha tea look absolutely stunning, elevating your tea ritual into a special artistic experience.

The "Master of the Wheel": A Sharp, Refined Silhouette
Among Kyoto’s young artisans, Takahashi is renowned as a "Master of the Potter's Wheel." His exceptional skill is evident in the bowl’s perfectly balanced form—a sharp, clean silhouette that feels light and intentional despite its grounded appearance.
Because the foundation of his work is built on such precise, traditional techniques, even his most minimalist designs possess a powerful presence that commands attention in any room.

Stylish Artistry for Modern Living
While designed for the traditional tea ceremony, this bowl’s stylish aesthetic blends seamlessly into modern interiors. It is a versatile handmade masterpiece that functions beautifully as a sophisticated cafe au lait bowl or a sculptural small server for contemporary dining.
Embrace the "Ichigo-Ichie" (once-in-a-lifetime) philosophy with this unique pottery piece—a true intersection of Japan’s heritage and modern design.

Shop Owner’s Note
I love the stable, cylindrical form and the subtle "wheel marks" that feel so natural against the fingertips. The titanium crystalline glaze gives it a beautiful "Sabi-cha" (rusty brown) hue, reminiscent of a cherished antique.
This weathered texture creates a breathtaking contrast with the vibrant green of freshly whisked Matcha. It’s the perfect handmade piece for those who want to slow down and enjoy the warmth of Kyoto pottery in their daily ritual.
