The Brilliance of Kōchi Glaze
The most captivating feature of this matcha bowl lies in its luminous, translucent colors.

The raised frames surrounding the motifs are meticulously built up by hand, showcasing the skill of handmade Japanese ceramics. The result is a refined and distinguished work of art.

Bringing the Beauty of Kyoto Ceramics Into Daily Life
With decades of experience, Yamamoto blends technical mastery with artistic sensitivity to create this remarkable matcha bowl. A true masterpiece of Kyo ware and Kiyomizu ware, it embodies the timeless elegance of traditional Japanese pottery.

Owner’s Comment
This elegant matcha bowl depicts plump sparrows in mid-flight, finely detailed against the soft glaze.
A golden moon accent adds a refined and graceful touch, enhancing the atmosphere of the design.
The motif of fukura-suzume, or “prosperous sparrow,” is a traditional Japanese symbol of happiness, good fortune, and abundance.
The glossy surface and raised slip-trailing (itchin) technique highlight the scene with depth and brilliance.
A celebratory and auspicious creation by Ichinyo Yamamoto, bringing seasonal charm and artistry to Kyoto handmade pottery.
