Kyoto Pottery Craftsmanship

Handmade Pink Kochi Matcha Bowl

The Depth and Luster of "Kochi" Glaze

The defining feature of this bowl is the "Kochi" glaze—a traditional Kyoto technique renowned for its vibrant, translucent colors and raised, tactile outlines. Each detail is carefully piped by hand, creating a three-dimensional frame that gives the piece an unmistakable sense of prestige and depth.

This handmade process ensures that no two pieces are exactly alike, offering you a unique slice of Japan’s pottery history.

Exquisite Ceramic Detail

Shop Owner’s Note

This bowl features a soft, peach-pink Kochi glaze that beautifully highlights the vibrant "Momiji" (Japanese Maple) leaves. In Japan, maple leaves aren't just symbols of autumn; they represent vitality, longevity, and the beauty of life's transitions.

Yamamoto-san’s bold brushwork breathes life into the fiery colors of the forest. It’s a powerful piece that brings the energy of the changing seasons to your table—truly a breathtaking bowl for entertaining guests or enjoying a quiet moment of reflection.

Absolutely exquisite! I know very little about Kyoto ceramics, and had initially eyed it for its aesthetics. Am beginning to learn the many difficult and complex elements it implemented. Honoured to own this piece by Ichinyo. Thank you Kotopotter.

I had been searching for a tea bowl featuring Fujin and Raijin (the gods of wind and thunder) to match my thunder-themed tea caddy.

I've always liked slip-trailing designs, but I really love the arrangement and composition of this tea bowl.

Thank you so much for this wonderful item.

この度はお買い求めいただきありがとうございました。
またの御利用を心よりお待ちしております。
