Playful Colors from a Quiet Kyoto Studio
Located near Kanshuji Temple in Kyoto, Dainichi Kiln is a family-run pottery workshop.
Artist Yotaro Takemura, together with his father Shigeo, continues the tradition of Kiyomizu-yaki pottery while embracing creativity and free expression.
Each piece is carefully handmade in their peaceful mountain studio, resulting in ceramics that blend seamlessly into daily life while radiating the individuality of modern art.

Vivid, Delicate, and Playfully Artistic
The Yudeisai series features bold, vibrant glazes reminiscent of pop art and street graffiti.
Using a unique air-spray glazing technique, layers of color overlap to create intricate patterns and playful gradients. Each piece is completely one of a kind — alive with movement and joy.

Everyday Art for Your Table
More than tableware, the Yudeisai series brings rhythm and color to any meal. These handmade ceramics highlight dishes beautifully, from Japanese cuisine to Western plates, turning ordinary dining into something special.
Casual yet refined, each work carries the warmth of handmade Japanese pottery. Perfect as a thoughtful gift or for adding a touch of Kyoto craftsmanship to your own home.

Owner’s Comment
This pouring vessel is like a piece of modern ceramic art, with its striking gradient colors contrasted by a glossy handle.
Durable and versatile, it can be used for serving sake — both chilled and warm — as well as herbal teas or loose-leaf infusions.
A functional yet artistic piece, handmade in Kyoto, that blends traditional pottery with contemporary expression.
