Realistic yet charming, take a moment to relax with your favorite cup

Takunobu Sawada runs his studio in Nantan City, Kyoto, an area that preserves the original landscape of Japan's countryside.

This series features animal-themed pottery that blends realistic details with a warm and endearing charm.

Each piece is carefully shaped by hand, with a smooth and practical form, finished with a classic powdery white glaze that brings out the earthy texture of the pottery.

The animal illustrations are carved into the glaze rather than painted with a brush, giving each piece a unique artistic touch and a sense of warmth.

With a father who was a ceramic artist specializing in Kyo-ware and Kiyomizu-ware, Sawada became fascinated with pottery at a young age. Now in his 30s, he has over 20 years of experience in ceramics, making him a seasoned artist.

With a blend of youthful creativity and expert craftsmanship, Sawada produces original works that reflect Kyoto's rich pottery tradition. Add one of his creations to your collection and enjoy the charm of handmade ceramics.
