The soft, milky-white kohiki glaze enhances the natural warmth and character unique to ceramic wares.

Rather than being painted, the animal designs are expressed by carefully carving into the kohiki glaze surface.

Sawada, whose father is also a Kyo and Kiyomizu ware ceramic artist, has been surrounded by pottery since childhood. Now with over 20 years of experience, he is a seasoned artisan in his thirties.

Blending polished technique with a fresh sensibility, he creates distinctly Kyoto-style ceramics that resonate with both tradition and modern life.
