Realistic yet charming: Enjoy delightful meals with your favorite rice bowl
Takunobu Sawada is a potter based in Nantan City, Kyoto, a region that preserves the idyllic countryside scenery of Japan.
This series of ceramic pieces features realistic yet heartwarming animal designs handcrafted by Sawada.
Each piece is carefully shaped and trimmed for ease of use, showcasing the creamy white tones of traditional pottery with a rustic "kohiki" finish.

The animal designs are created by carving into the kohiki surface rather than painting, giving each piece a unique character and warmth.
With a father who is a Kyo-ware and Kiyomizu-ware ceramic artist, Sawada has been passionate about pottery from an early age. Now in his 30s, he has over 20 years of experience, solidifying his reputation as a skilled artisan.
Combining youthful creativity with masterful techniques, Sawada creates original Kyoto pottery that deserves a place in your home.
