Takunobu Sawada runs his studio in Nantan City, Kyoto, an area that preserves the original landscape of Japan's countryside.
This is a series of pottery featuring animal illustrations that are both realistic and warmly charming, created by Sawada.
Each piece is carefully shaped by hand, with a smooth form designed for ease of use, and a powdery white glaze that brings out the ceramic's natural texture.
The animal illustrations are carved into the glaze, rather than painted, creating a unique and warm artistic expression.
With a father who was a ceramic artist specializing in Kyo-ware and Kiyomizu-ware, Sawada developed a strong interest in ceramics from a young age. Now in his 30s, he has over 20 years of experience, establishing himself as an experienced artisan.
With youthful creativity and masterful technique, Sawada continues to create original works that reflect the rich tradition of Kyoto pottery. Add one of his pieces to your collection and experience the artistry of Kyoto ceramics.
