Sawada's series of pottery features realistic yet warm and endearing depictions of animals.
Each piece is carefully shaped, with its form refined for everyday use. The bowls are finished with a soft, milky white glaze, a hallmark of traditional ceramic art.
The animal designs are not painted but instead carefully etched by hand, revealing the clay beneath the glaze. This unique technique gives each piece a sense of warmth and individuality.
With a father who was a renowned Kyo-ware and Kiyomizu-ware artisan, Sawada's passion for ceramics began at a young age. Now in his 30s, he has over 20 years of experience and is regarded as a seasoned artist.
Combining youthful creativity with masterful craftsmanship, Sawada creates original Kyoto pottery pieces that are perfect for your collection.
