Ikkanjin-adorned tableware to brighten your dining table

The small figure peeking gently over the rim of the vessel is an "Ikkanjin."

"Kan" means to have peace of mind and enjoy tranquil moments. The wish is to encourage people to slowly enjoy their meals and tea breaks, even in their busy daily lives.

Each Ikkanjin is handmade, and it is a signature design of Yu Takeuchi that grows on you every time you look at it.

The splendor born from traditional Kyo-ware techniques

Yu Takeuchi's works are created by skillfully combining traditional Kyo-ware techniques such as Kochi, sometsuke, and itchin mori.

The vessels, featuring patterns drawn with raised lines and vibrant colors, are both splendid and elegant. The meticulous finishing of the decorations reveals skilled craftsmanship.

Adding joy to everyday life

While inheriting traditional techniques, the designs are somehow approachable and playful.

These Kyo-ware and Kiyomizu-ware pieces by Yu Takeuchi brighten your mood every time you use them.

Comment from the shop owner

This splendid seven-sun plate features an adorable Ikkanjin sitting on the rim of the vessel, capturing the eye.

Bold peonies are painted on a bright and vivid yellow Kochi ground. Peonies have long been cherished as auspicious patterns symbolizing wealth and prosperity.

This impressive piece harmonizes the beauty of lustrous glazes with delicate painting. It is a work truly characteristic of Kyo-ware and Kiyomizu-ware, enjoyable both as a serving dish and a decorative plate.
