A Unique Ceramic Cup for Tea, Sake, and Everyday Use
Bring a Touch of Kyoto Tradition to Your Table
Crafted by master potter Takuro Nagata of Nagata Studio in Kyoto’s scenic Kyotanba region, this exquisite handmade ceramic cup reflects over 50 years of experience and dedication to the art of Kyo-ware and Kiyomizu-ware pottery.
This cup is a perfect blend of timeless tradition and functional design, ideal for everyday enjoyment or special occasions.

Each piece is handcrafted using the "press mold" technique, a meticulous and time-consuming method where clay is shaped by hand. This traditional process ensures every cup has a unique texture and character.
The preserved fingerprints and natural irregularities highlight the handmade artistry, making each piece a one-of-a-kind creation.

The porcelain is carefully selected for its translucent quality and refined finish. Fired at high temperatures, the cup is both elegant and highly durable, ensuring it can be enjoyed for years to come.
This timeless piece is not only functional but also a celebration of Kyoto's traditional craftsmanship.

The delicate Yatsuhashi motif, inspired by the timeless beauty of Kyoto’s historic floral gardens, is hand-painted by Nagata’s wife, a former artisan of Kyoto’s renowned Yuzen dyeing tradition. Her intricate brushstrokes in soft indigo hues exude harmony and understated elegance.
This cup exemplifies the best of Kyo-ware, combining artistry and practicality for pottery enthusiasts and collectors alike.
