About the Artist
Hiroshi Oketani (Second Generation Seiichi Oketani)
- Born in 1935 in the traditional pottery district of Higashiyama, Kyoto
- Graduated from Kyoto Fushimi High School, Department of Ceramics
- Trained under his father, renowned ceramic artist Seiichi Oketani
- Recipient of Silver Award at the Kyoto Craft Exhibition
- Winner at the Kyoto Arts and Crafts Exhibition
- Multiple awards in various Kyoto exhibitions
- Selected ten times for the Kinki Region Traditional Crafts Exhibition
- Selected three times for the Japan Traditional Crafts Exhibition
