About the Artist

Housen Maeda

Born in Kyoto in 1959 as the second son of potter Masanori Maeda.

Trained under his father and studied sculpture with Professor Kakuji Yamamoto of Kyoto City University of Arts.

In 1995, he became independent from master potter Goun Maeda and established his own kiln in Nishinoyama, Yamashina, Kyoto.
