Artist Profile: Zensho Yamaoka
- Born 1942 in Mie Prefecture
- Graduated 1959 from Kyoto Prefectural Ceramic Training School under Master Yamaoka
- 1969 began exhibiting at the Tankō Biennale Tea Ceremony Art Competition
- Three-time Governor’s Award winner, Kyoto Overglaze Ceramic Exhibition
- Two-time awardee, Kyoto Prefecture Design Competition (1990–2000)
- Five-time recipient, Kyoyaki & Kiyomizu Exhibition (2000–2010)
- Selected for the National Traditional Crafts Masters Conference in 2001
- Featured on NHK’s “Bi no Tsubo: Kyo-Yaki Edition” in 2012
- Chairman’s Award winner, Uji Tourism Association, Kyoyaki & Kiyomizu Exhibition 2010
