Brilliant Colors Crafted by a Master Artisan
Ichinyo Yamamoto, a ceramic artist based in Uji, Kyoto, has been creating Kyoto pottery (Kyo-ware and Kiyomizu-ware) for more than half a century. His matcha bowls are known for their vivid colors and artistic presence, the result of decades of skill and dedication.
This piece brings a touch of elegance to your everyday tea moments. It is a thoughtful gift for someone special, or a meaningful treat for yourself.

The Rich Colors and Dimensional Detail of Kōchi Glaze
The most striking feature of this handmade ceramic matcha bowl is its luminous, transparent color. Yamamoto uses the traditional Kyoto glaze known as Kōchi, producing a depth and brilliance unique to Kyoto’s ceramic traditions.
A raised frame is carefully built up around each motif—applied entirely by hand—giving the piece a sculptural quality. This refined finish showcases the mastery and precision that define traditional Kyoto pottery.

Bringing the Beauty of Kyoto Pottery into Your Daily Life
This bowl represents the harmony of seasoned craftsmanship and elegant design—qualities that define Kyoto’s traditional pottery culture.
Whether used for a tea gathering, for your everyday matcha, or simply as a display piece, it brings a sense of calm and refinement to any space.

Presented in a Wooden Box
This matcha bowl comes in a handcrafted wooden box chosen to complement the character of the piece. The inscription on the lid is written by the artist himself, giving the box additional value as a certificate of authenticity.
It is suitable both for personal use and as a memorable gift for any special occasion.
Please consider it for celebrations, anniversaries, or seasonal greetings.
*Please note: the wooden box requires approximately two weeks to complete.

Owner's Comment
This piece features soft yellow Kōchi glaze adorned with green maple leaves and a boldly painted trunk. The cylindrical form—reminiscent of a classic Raku-style tea bowl—adds depth and presence to the scenery.
The cool tones of the maple express the feeling of early summer in Japan, like a breeze passing through fresh green foliage. It is a beautiful example of Ichinyo Yamamoto’s refined sense of seasonality and color.
