A Symphony of Seasons: Artistry Inspired by Classical Poetry
In the historic hills of Uji, Kyoto, master artisan Ichinyo Yamamoto brings over half a century of mastery to this exquisite ceramic Matcha bowl. This handmade masterpiece is a visual poem, weaving together traditional motifs and classical literature into a vibrant work of art that elevates your daily rituals.
Perfect as a prestigious gift or a soulful addition to your own collection, this pottery work represents the pinnacle of Japanese craftsmanship and traditional aesthetics.

Translucent Brilliance: The Kochi Technique
The beauty of this piece lies in the "Kochi" glaze—a traditional Kyoto technique celebrated for its vibrant, gem-like colors and tactile, raised textures. Each delicate "Yukiwa" (snowflake ring) and floral detail is meticulously piped by hand, creating a 3D frame that catches the light and brings the ceramic surface to life.

"In the dawn's early light, the white snow falling on Yoshino village looks so beautiful that I mistook it for the bright light of the moon—or perhaps the cherry blossoms of spring."
— Inspired by Sakanoue no Korenori (Kokinshu / Hyakunin Isshu)
Heritage for the Modern Home
This handmade bowl is a "living masterpiece" that blends ancient storytelling with modern luxury. While ideal for a mindful tea ceremony, its elegant form is equally suited for serving sophisticated desserts, a morning café au lait, or simply as a striking conversation piece displayed in your favorite space.

Shop Owner’s Note
This exquisite bowl features the "Shikunshi" (Four Noble Plants: Orchid, Bamboo, Chrysanthemum, and Plum) alongside delicate "Yukiwa" (Snowflake) patterns. In Japan, these motifs represent the beauty and resilience of nature throughout the seasons.
The inscribed Waka poem by the legendary poet Sakanoue no Korenori describes snow so radiant it could be mistaken for moonlight or blossoms. It captures that magical transition from winter to spring. I invite you to immerse yourself in this poetic world while enjoying a peaceful cup of tea or a favorite treat.
