Owner’s Comment

This charming matcha bowl depicts a baby dreaming of “the first dream of the year,” illustrated with simple, gentle lines.

In Japanese tradition, the first dream is considered especially auspicious when it features Mount Fuji, a hawk, and an eggplant—symbols of good fortune and prosperity.

A warm and lighthearted piece that brings a gentle smile to New Year tea gatherings.
