Elegant Hand-painted Design, Born from Kyoto Tradition
This matcha bowl from Kyoto, Japan embodies the refined artistry of Kyo-ware and Kiyomizu-ware pottery, featuring vivid hand-painted motifs that capture the spirit of the seasons.
Each brushstroke reflects the painter’s graceful sensibility, evoking the quiet sophistication and cultural beauty of Kyoto.
The softly rounded form, created on the potter’s wheel, showcases the masterful Iroe (colored overglaze) technique inherited by Jyosui Kato, a master craftsman who continues Kyoto’s ceramic legacy.

Celebrate the Seasons through Tea
Perfect for both traditional tea ceremonies and relaxed tea moments at home, this handmade Kyoto ceramic bowl brightens your table with a touch of seasonal color.
Even when displayed, it adds a gentle presence to your interior — a piece that allows you to feel the passage of time and nature in your daily life.
Its light, open form makes it especially well-suited for summer tea gatherings, pairing beautifully with the refreshing green hue of matcha.

The Art of Hand-painted Kyoto Pottery
Jyosui Kato preserves the spirit of Edo-period Kyoto pottery, where the beauty of nature is captured with poetic realism and gentle color harmony.
Delicate brushwork and luminous glazes express the essence of flowers and auspicious motifs, continuing the elegant tradition of Japanese ceramic painting.
This handcrafted matcha bowl, imbued with care and refinement, makes a timeless and meaningful gift handmade in Kyoto.
