The Soft Expression Unique to Raku Ware
Raku matcha bowls are vessels born from Kyoto's tea ceremony tradition, which has a history of approximately 400 years.
Because they are shaped by hand without the use of a potter's wheel, each one has its own natural variation.
The soft texture created by low-temperature firing and the warmth felt in the hands.
The way the character changes with use is another charm unique to Raku ware.

Gentle Decoration Painted with Colored Clay
Raku-ire matcha bowls are decorated using "raw decoration," where the design is painted directly onto the clay.
By painting with colored clay rather than pigments, soft, subdued colors and a subtle sense of dimension are created.
This gentle expression is achieved through decoration that can only be realized with low-temperature fired Raku ware.
Seasonal motifs and charming designs blend naturally not only into tea gatherings but also into everyday moments.

For Tea Ceremonies and Everyday Tea
Designed to be easy to use as a tea utensil while remaining a bowl you can enjoy casually.
You can use it as a vessel that evokes the seasons when whisking matcha at home, or simply enjoy it as it is.
Whether in use or simply displayed, it adds a soft touch of color to any space.

Shop Owner's Comment
This Raku-ire "Morning of Departure" matcha bowl depicts Mount Fuji and soaring cranes in the dawn sky.
The beautiful gradient transitioning from blue to red expresses the sky being dyed by the morning sun. Set against the majestic Mount Fuji, cranes are depicted soaring gracefully through the sky, creating a bright scene that evokes the beginning of a new day.
Combining two auspicious motifs, Mount Fuji and cranes, with a scene full of the hope of dawn, this bowl is perfect for a new beginning.
